Sport&EU Conference 2012

The conference will take place on 21st and 22nd June 2012, with a preconference event on 20th June. Registration and fees

Refistration is now closed.

As usual, Sport&EU has tried its best to keep conference fees to a moderate level for our members, especially PhD students. We are thankful to the local organisers for being able to deliver excellent value for money. The conference fees are as follows:

  • 250 CHF (General – Conference and Pre-conference)
  • 150 CHF (Students – Conference and Pre-conference)

The fees include the participation in the conference as well as all relevant materials. The Thursday night gala dinner is also included in the fee.

A number of hotels offer special prices to conference participants. All are located close to a metro or bus stop going to IDHEAP. No hotel is within walking distance as the university campus is located somewhat outside of Lausanne. Make sure to book early as June is a busy month in Lausanne. Contact the hotels directly and mention the name of the conference.

Other accomodation are of course available and can be accessed here.

Please note that with any reservations in Lausanne you also receive a public transit card.

Getting to Switzerland, getting to Lausanne

Numerous airlines have regular flights to either Geneva (40 minutes train to Lausanne), Bern (50 min.) or Zurich (2:30 hrs.). Geneva airport is the easiest flight option. The train station is directly at the airport and most trains stop in Lausanne. Trains depart roughly every 20 minutes. Schedules can be checked here.

Lausanne is also linked to the European TGV network and is only about 4 hours from Paris.

The train station of Lausanne is linked to the local public transport system. Please be aware that taxis are relatively expensive in Switzerland.

For information on how to reach the conference venue, please click here.

Please note that very few cities in Europe allow you to fly in to Lausanne on the very day of the conference. For example, the first flight out of London will take you to Lausanne at 11h at the earliest. Come early and join us at the pre-conference!
