Professor Mark Pieth is the latest addition to the programme of the 7th Annual Conference of the Association for the Study of Sport and the Europea Union. Professor Pieth has risen to popularity lately due to his involvement in the FIFA Independent Governance Committee. Mark Pieth has been a professor of criminal law and criminology at the University of Basel, Switzerland, since 1993. He is the Chairman of the Board, Basel Institute on Governance. He chairs the OECD Working Group on Bribery and is a member of the Integrity Advisory Board of the World Bank Group. He chairs the FIFA Independent Governance Committee since 2011.
